Why is it that the world we read about in The Economist and the world of the Bible seem so incredibly different? Why are 87% of the world’s workers disengaged from their work? And why do 84% of Christian 18-29 year old have no idea how the Bible applies to their field or professional interests?

In this video, Jeff Haanen, executive director of Denver Institute for Faith & Work (DIFW), shares how these questions shaped his personal story, why a group of leaders decided to launch DIFW, and what they hope to accomplish with this new organization.

Jeff Haanen is a writer and entrepreneur. He founded Denver Institute for Faith & Work, a community of conveners, teachers and learners offering experiences and educational resources on the gospel, work, and community renewal. He is the author of An Uncommon Guide to Retirement: Finding God’s Purpose for the Next Season of Life and an upcoming two-book series on spiritual formation, vocation, and the working class for Intervarsity Press.
