Dr. Jay Jakub is the Senior Director of External Research at Mars, Incorporated. Mars is a global Food & Beverage company with 80k associates and >$35bn in annual revenues, known for iconic brands such as M&Ms, Snickers, Mars Bar, Dove chocolate, Pedigree, Whiskas, Caesar’s, Wrigley gum, and Uncle Ben’s Rice. He co-leads the Mutuality Laboratory, which developed the “Economics of Mutuality”, a business model & non-monetized metrics to help move companies from a profit maximization model to a holistic value optimization approach across Shared Financial Capital, Social Capital, Human Capital, and Natural Capital.

Jay and colleague Bruno Roches collaborated on the book Completing Capitalism: Health Business to Heal the World a rigorous, practical case study for the “Economics of Mutuality.” In addition, this growing movement is now taught globally through Oxford University’s Saïd Business School.

Jay is based in the Mars global headquarters in McLean, Virginia. His doctorate is in Modern History from Oxford University (St. John’s College), he has an M.A. in International Relations & Strategic Studies from the University of Lancaster (UK), and a double-BA in International Relations / Political Science from American University in Washington, DC.
