A Labor Day Campaign to Reimagine Your Work
Labor Day is a day that recognizes the importance and dignity of work in the United States. As an organization committed to catalyzing a renewed imagination for daily work, Labor Day is a holiday we want to highlight.
This page contains resources for you, your family, your church, or your workplace to use as you reflect on your work this Labor Day.
Over 80% of Jesus’ parables were about work or workers.
Jesus told stories about work so that his hearers would identify themselves in the story and to invite them to imagine how they could participate in the kingdom through the whole of their lives, particularly in their work.
This year’s devotional explores four parables from the Gospel of Luke. Each day includes:
A parable of Jesus that speaks to the experience of work,
A short reflection,
And a prayer practice connecting your daily work to the parable’s message.
Download the first volume of the God Loves Work devotional series, published in 2024. From four Scripture passages you’ll learn about and reflect on why God loves work:
because God is a worker,
because work can form us toward Christlikeness,
because God is a craftsman,
and because in our work we can hear cries for mercy.
As you work through the devotional, listen to the God Loves Work series on the Teach Us To Pray podcast. Each episode corresponds with one day of the devotional.
In addition to the podcasts and devotionals above, we have events, blog posts, and digital courses to help you reflect on your work this Labor Day.
