Faith/Work Resources for Women

Anticipating Denver Institute's March 8 event "Equipping the Women in Your Congregation for Their Role in God's Mission," we have collected a few women’s resources that we've previously created that may be of interest to your staff or your congregants. These DIFW resources will give you an idea of the content and feel of our Women & Vocation Initiative events.

  • "Navigating the Challenges of Career, Motherhood and Identity"
In this event video, Kate Harris, author of "Wonder Women: Navigating the Challenges of Career, Motherhood and Identity," speaks on three challenges facing women – embodiment, encampment, and expectation – and seeks guidance from Christian theology for women today.
  • "The Christian Call for Women to Work"
Katelyn Beaty, the former Managing Editor of Christianity Today, explores what Scripture says about work, the history of women and career, and how we might be able to respond today in this event video.

Finally, I recently wrote a review of A Woman’s Place by Katelyn Beaty that also serves as a helpful perspective. Beaty even gave us permission to print this excerpt from her book.
