A GLIMPSE OF WHAT WE'LL LEARN TOGETHER...
Embracing the “AND” doesn’t dilute who we are—it deepens it. When we stop striving to resolve every contradiction, we create space for God to do His most transformative work within us and through us. In our opening session, Dr. Nicole Martin, COO of Christianity Today and author of Nailing It: Why Successful Leadership Demands Suffering and Surrender, will challenge us to adopt a counter-culture perspective on work–one that invites us to surrender outdated leadership practices to gain new power for work in Christ.
Within each of us lies a powerful interplay between purpose, our deeper reason for being, and desire, the passions that move us. For many women, the relationship between the two is anything but easy. Purpose feels worthy, while desire may seem frivolous or selfish. But what if God never intended these dynamic forces to conflict with each other? What if uniting purpose and desire is key to loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength (Luke 10:27) and the fuel that drives our calling?
In this workshop-style session, leadership consultant Tracey Gee, author of The Magic of Knowing What You Want: A Practical Guide to Unearthing the Wisdom of Your Desires will offer biblical principles and practical frameworks to guide us toward more aligned, wholehearted work.
Have you ever accepted an assignment and wondered if you have what it takes to complete the project? Or walked into a professional setting and questioned whether you deserved to be there? Maybe you strongly expressed your opinions and were told you were “too much” for your team.
At some point in your career you’ve probably had a moment when you felt like you’re too much or not enough–maybe both at the same time! Our ability to effect change, whatever our role, depends on moving through these emotions to lead authentically and impactfully.
In this session, we’ll hear from three women in short, engaging presentations exploring ways the gospel frees us from our limiting beliefs.
The Christian life is a journey of in-betweens. We celebrate what Christ has already accomplished through his death and resurrection. We see glimpses of his Kingdom already revealed in restored relationships or expressions of generosity in our communities.
But, our world is still affected by sin. God’s Kingdom is not yet realized in our lives and workplaces. We hope for the day when Christ will redeem all things, but reality makes it clear that day has not yet arrived.
How we maintain our vision for faithful influence in the “already & not yet” nature of working life is vital for our careers, and our souls. To close the day, we’ll speak with two of our favorite executives, to hear how they navigate this tension in the practical realities of their work and leadership.
